Grow With Me Pictures

I got this idea from my friend Lindsay's blog.  You are suppose to take a picture each month with the same stuffed animal so you can look back and see how much they have grown.  I wish I would have taken one when they were first born, oh well.

Sibling Love

The kids have done really well with the babies.  Ashlyn doesn't care too much either way, she could take 'em or leave 'em.  Occasionally she will want to hold them, for 10 seconds.  Once the babies get a little older I am sure she will figure out how much fun they are to play with.

Jaxon on the other hand is a whole different story.  He absolutely LOVES and ADORES his baby sisters!  He wants to hold them all day.  He will say things like, "Its not fair that you and dad get to hold the babies and I don't." He even cried real tears one night because he didn't get a turn to hold one that day.  He will sit down and hold them for 15 minutes.  The other day he even fell asleep holding Breanne, so cute!  We stuck Brynlee on him too for the photo op.

I am one lucky momma!

First Baths

I always hate giving my babies the first bath at home.  You know they are going to scream and freeze while you are trying to hold and wash a slippery, wiggley little ball of mush.

First Week Home

Good thing we took some pictures, because our first week home is all a blur.  I think I was still running on adrenaline for most of the week.  The babies and I were trying to figure each other out.  I wasn't getting a whole bunch of sleep but the babies were sure getting a whole bunch of love!

My Sweet Angels

I had the twins pictures taken last week and I couldn't be happier with the results.  Although they were wide awake almost the ENTIRE time, which makes it very difficult to pose a newborn, she was able to get some great pictures.  Breanne is with the pink blanket and Brynlee is with the teal blanket. I am so in love with these girls and I can't imagine my family without them!

(I love how they are holding hands!)

Twins!

Who would have ever thought that I would have to be induced???  After six weeks of bedrest and medication to prevent the twins from coming early, they decided they liked their home in my belly and didn't want to leave.
My Doctor told me to call at 7:00am on Wednesday morning to make sure it was still okay for me to be induced.  I called at 6:30 since it was starting to snow pretty hard and it would take us an hour to get to the hospital.  They politely told me to call back at 7:00. (I am sure they have all sorts of pregnant women trying to be the first ones to get the okay to come in for their induction.)  We decided to leave the house at 6:45 and hope for the best.  I called the hospital at 7:00 hoping they would let me come in; but I was told they were still deciding who gets to come in and call back in 15 minutes.  My heart sank, I couldn't imagine having to go home and continue to be pregnant.  Over the past week I have developed a horrendous rash called PUPPPs, and it was making life miserable. The only way it will clear up is to deliver.  I was praying I was at the top of the list to be induced; 38 weeks pregnant with twins and PUPPPs... I dutifully called again at 7:15, tears in my eyes, waiting for an answer...the head nurse said "come on in."  *HALLELULAH*
Once we got to the hospital everything happened really quick.  I was checked in and hooked up to all the monitors. At 8:00 my doctor came and checked me, I was at a 3+ so she broke my water.  She said she didn't want to start any Pitocin until we see how I am progressing.  I was starting to feel some stronger contractions so I had my epidural at around 9:00.  The nurse monitored me and said she would check me again at 10:30 to see how I was progressing.  Doug and his parents went down to the cafeteria to get some food right before she checked me. I could tell by the look on her face something was going on.  She told me I was fully dilated and we were going to deliver.  I hurried and called Doug to come back up and called my mom to get their quick.
As soon as Doug got to the room they tossed him his robe, mask, and hat, and they started rolling me down the hall. *They deliver twins in the O.R. just in case they need to do a c-section.  Everything happened so fast from there.  They were getting me prepped and waiting for the doctor.  Brynlee's was crowning and she was ready to come, I thought the nurse was going to have to deliver her, but my doctor made it just in time.  I didn't even have to push, she came out on her own. She was born at 10:51 and weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 19 inches long.  I had a couple other doctors in there pushing on my belly right after she was born to help guide Breanne so she would be head-down as well.  My doctor asked me to push twice to help her come down, after that she was there and ready to be delivered.  She was born at 10:56 and weighed 6 lb 5oz and 19 inches long. *Five minutes, 2 pushes, two babies, CRAZY.
