36 Days...

You know the saying, "Don't bite off more than you can chew."  Well, I have a feeling I took an awfully big bite!  A few months ago I was feeling like I was in a rut.  I know I have an important job as a mother, and I LOVE being a mom, but I didn't feel like I had any other talents.  Sometimes you just need to have a feeling of accomplishment.

Anyways.......I wanted to do something, something that would be difficult for me to do.  I love the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, "We must do the thing we think we cannot do."  I decided the thing that I cannot do would be to run a half-marathon.  I know for a lot of people this isn't a huge accomplishment but for me it seems VERY daunting!

I am not very good at running, I am slow and I am sure I have bad form while doing it.  I have been training, at first I was very good and never missed a run.  Lately I have been slacking off a little bit,  I guess I am just frustrated that it has not become any easier for me.  After running over 100 miles you think it would get easier, right?  So much of it for me is a mental game.  While I am running I think about how much it sucks and how hard it is.  I also argue back and forth in my mind about how far I can go.

So I have 36 days left until my run.  I am going to try and change my attitude and get back on the pavement.  Here is hoping for good weather and babysitters so I can get my run on......

Jaxon Paul

I want to write down a few things about Jaxon and what he is up to.

Jaxon is a typical six year old little boy.  He is in Kindergarten this year, he likes school and his teacher Mrs. White.  He has a hard time waking up in the morning for school and doesn't always want to go but once he gets there he loves it.  Jaxon is very smart!  I just had parent-teacher conference at his school and his teacher had only praises for him.  He got all fours on his report card and is reading well above his grade level.  He was so excited the other night because he read his very first chapter book.  He is also very good at math, just like his daddy.  He can do math in his head very easily, he is a natural with numbers!

Like most boys, he loves to play anything electronic; the wii, computer, ipod, and his nintendo ds.  He also likes to color, ride his bike, and have sleep-overs at grandma's house.  Now that it has been warming up Doug and Jaxon have been playing catch all the time.

Jaxon is such a GOOD big brother.  The poor boy has four little sisters and he handles them all so well.  He is so good with the babies and always willing to help me out with them.  He and Ashlyn are getting to the age where they love to play and fight with each other all the time, they love to drive each other crazy!

Lastly, Jaxon is my cuddler.  He is such a sweetheart, and he can't go to bed without a kiss and telling me he loves me.  He promised me he will always cuddle, even when he is grown up :)
