New Pictures of the Kiddos

I am so excited to show everyone these pictures. I couldn't be more happy with the way they turned out. Tiffany Drury was the photographer and she is so talented. Here is a link to her blog http://photographybytiffanyd.blogspot.com/ She lives in southern Utah but, I know that she comes up North to visit family, these were taken at Wheeler Farm.

P.S. You may see these again on our Christmas card :)

Newest addition to the family

Introducing Jag......

He was the pick of the littler and we just couldn't help ourselves. He is going to be soooo big, he dad was over a hundred pounds. We must like to shovel poop because he will more than double our current load ;) It was so much easier selling the puppies knowing that we were going to keep one. That way I knew I could get attached to one without having to say goodbye. It hasn't been too hard to let the puppies go because I think that all the families they went to are going to be awesome. We just have one girl left and hopefully she will find a new home this week.

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Doug's parents house. It was DELICIOUS! Doug's dad does the majority of the cooking, my contribution was lemon meringue pie. We had had good food and conversation.

SOOOO BIG!

After dinner I went and picked up my mom to brave the crowds at Michael's. They had Cricut cartridges for $29.99, what a deal! There was probably only about twenty people in line ahead of us when we got there so we figured we had a pretty good chance of getting some. When they opened the doors at 5:59 PM it was a mad dash to the back of the store. We grabbed a couple and stood back to watch the frenzy. We thought it wasn't going to to be too bad since these women were all loving scrapbookers, right? We thought wrong. There was a very rude family of four women pushed and trampled people out of the way. I even heard one of them say to another customer "If you didn't want to fight then you shouldn't have come here!" - I suppose getting a good deal is more important then showing good character. We got what we wanted and we only had to wait in line about 20 minutes, which beats the Friday morning crowds.

Carried Away !!!

Last night Natalie and I got to go the Carrie Underwood concert at the E Center. We had soooo much fun. We were so giddy on the way over acting like teeny boppers going to see Hannah Montana in concert. I have to say a BIG thank you to KBULL 93 for the awesome tickets (a special shout out to Heather.) We needed a well deserved girls night out, I couldn't think of any thing we would have rather done.

Little Big Town opened for Carrie and they were really good. I never realized how many songs they had out on the radio. And of course, Carrie delivered a wonderful performance. I love that almost all of her songs tell a great story. I found myself getting emotional a time or two. It was probably the best concert I have ever been to.

Here are a few pictures from the show. I had to sneak my camera in, and it doesn't take the best pictues from a distance in the dark, oh well!

Puppy Pictures

These are the last two puppies left (both girls.) We have had someone requesting more information on the little brown girl, so maybe a potential buyer. They are so sweet I just had to post a couple pictures of them.

Quick Question

I am not that computer savvy. I think that Google reader is an amazing time saver for an avid blog reader like myself. However, with everyone going private google reader doesn't work, right? I was wondering if there is a way that google reader can let you know when a person's private blog is updated? Help please!

Kids Pictures

Last Saturday I had an old friend from high school take the kids pictures. She is a really talented photographer and I highly recommend her. We had a fun time at the shoot, and I would definitely do it again. On her blog is a sneak peek of the pics

Puppies

I just thought I would post some pictures of our puppies. We should be putting an ad on KSL Classifieds this week to sell them. Out of the six we still have four for sale, two boys and two girls. They will be eight weeks old on November 28th, then they can leave their mama. It has been very crazy around our house now that they are getting older. They want to play all the time and they need to eat a lot more which means they pottie a lot more as well. It will be bittersweet to see them go, I never expected to get so attached to them.

Blah Blah

I love that Suave commercial that shows the mom going through different stages of Motherhood. She gets a little sadder looking as time goes on...Well that is how I feel. I realized this morning that I haven't shaved my legs in a week. I have noticed recently that I have really let myself go. I am not sure why...maybe because we have outgrown our house and even if I clean for hours it looks like I have accomplished nothing. Or maybe because there is always someone asleep in our house (Doug, Ashlyn, occasionally Jaxon) so I find it hard to get motivated to get myself ready. Maybe it is because I have one husband, two kids, and seven dogs who need my attention. Whatever the reason is I need to find the desire to change. I will tell myself to just get dressed up and you will feel better, but then I realize I have no clothes and I need a makeover :)
I think the only drawback to the blogging scene is that everyone posts the picture perfect life. We don't get to see the messy houses or the whiny kids running around in their jammies at noon. I am sure that no one loses their temper at the family, or cries when they feel overwhelmed. I have to remind myself that no one is perfect even though it seems like ALL of my friends have their lives's in perfect order.
This is not a pity post!!! I am just wanted to vent for a minute. Now all that is left to do is buy some Suave and take a shower, then I can have my TADA moment after I wash my hair :)

Halloween

We had a great Halloween night. Our little Tinkerbell picked up leaves to put in her bucket and Jack Sparrow loved getting and passing out candy. Trunk or Treat is so nice with little kids, 10 minutes 50 cars later and you are done.

Happy Birthday Ashlyn!!!

I cannot believe that my baby is one today! It makes me so sad how fast she is growing up. I wish I could freeze time and keep her little forever. She is such a sweet girl. We are amazed everyday that we are so blessed to have this little angel in our home. Ashlyn is pretty small for her age, and she started walking around ten months, so everywhere we go everyone is so amazed that this tiny little thing is walking around. When it comes to speaking she has the basics down; mama, dada, baba, doggie, nana. Although every once in a while she will jibber a whole mouth full of nothing. She loves to point at things, as soon as she wakes up in the morning she is pointing at various things in her room and wondering what they are. I think I am so emotional because Doug says that she is our last baby. (we will have to see about that nudge-nudge-wink-wink) I love her so much and I look forward to seeing her learn about her world around her in the next year.

She wouldn't even touch her cake! Which is quite amazing because this little girl LOVES to eat.

Kids are so funny

I just thought I would post this funny picture really quick. I had to hurry out the door to do some quick visiting teaching yesterday. Both Doug and Jaxon were sleeping so I just took Ashlyn with me. When I got back this is what I found on the family room floor.

Jaxon woke up, and instead of waking up his dad, he made his "body" out of poker chips on floor. He was laughing because he said he had a jelly bean body. IJust incase you were wondering there are not two sets of arms, the top set is his ears (and yes his face is in the middle.)

The Puppies are here!

I knew Maya was getting close to having her puppies, I figured we had a few days left before she would go into labor. I was sooo wrong! This morning I woke up and went out to check on Maya (she usually sleeps inside with us but since she has to pee every hour lately she has been outside) and I notice that she is carrying something in her mouth. I realize that it is a puppy and I am mortified because it is obviously not alive. I rushed inside to get Doug up to help me then I went back out to see if I could find the rest of the puppies. I looked around and found one other puppy in her igloo doghouse, which she very rarely goes in. I grab the puppy and try my best to save it, it looked like she had the puppy in the dirt, it was covered in mud.

Side note- we had built Maya a whelping box a few weeks ago so she would have somewhere to give birth in, however for some reason the ground seemed much more appealing. We also thought that we were quite prepared for this whole procedure, it turns out if everything went by the book we were prepared, if she had the puppies in the middle of the night we weren't.

Back to the story, so at this point we are both pretty scared. We don't know why the first puppy is not alive and why the other puppy is all alone, of course 'in the moment' you think of the worst case scenario i.e. she killed the puppy, she has abandoned her puppies, she ate the puppies. All these terrible things that she would never do. So after figuring we need to get her to the vet and figure out what is really happening, we call grandma Laura to meet us down to take the kids.

Long story, kinda short - she ended up having NINE puppies, two at home and seven at the clinic. Five boys and four girls. Unfortunately, we lost three of the boys. The vet said it is common to lose a third of the puppies in a big litter. One was still born and the other was barely breathing at all. We still don't know what the story was with the one that didn't make it at home, but he was pretty small so he was probably also stillborn; and Maya was probably trying to get him to breathe which is why she wasn't with the other puppy this morning.

It was a highly emotional day! We are just glad that Maya is doing good and the six puppies we have are nursing and doing well. Maya has turned into such a good mom already, she won't the puppies for a minute. I know it is going to be hard to sell them when the time comes because I am already attached to the little girl we saved this morning.

Birthday Excitement

When was the last time you were this happy when you woke up on your birthday?

Happy Birthday Jaxon

I can't believe my baby is 4 today! Jaxon couldn't be more excited, this is how our conversation went as soon as he woke up this morning.

Jaxon: Mom, am I four now?
Mom: Yes, buddy you are four.
Jaxon: Am I really four?
Mom: Yes, you are really four.
Jaxon: I can't believe I am four, I always wanted to be four!

Jaxon is such a blessing in our lives. We are amazed everyday how smart he is. He has such a crazy imagination, some of the stuff he comes up with is so crazy. He is such a crazy boy. Right now his favorite things to do are; playing video games, riding his bike, going to preschool, writing his letters, coloring, all sports, jumping on the tramp, and playing with his sister. I can't believe how fast kids grow up!

Five Months old watching Daddy play Baseball in Arizona.
Ten Months old playing in the toy drawer.

Two and a half fishing at the lake.
Three Months old

Almost three years old
