Bridal Veil Falls

On May 28th we took the family up to see Bridal Veil Falls.  It is a nice short little hike that the my young  kids can do all by themselves.  The scenery was BEAUTIFUL and the weather was so nice.

I was SUPER paranoid to have the kids by the river.  It was running so high and fast that if someone fell in they would be gone before you could do anything to save them.

We took a lot of pictures and had a lot of fun :)

I don't know why, but my babies LOVE dirt; they love to play in it, throw it, and eat it!

Playtime

The twins love to play outside.  We have a rule in our house, "Keep the door shut to keep the bugs out and the babies in."  Whenever the door opens the babies make a run for it.  When I don't let them out it just breaks their little hearts.  Here are a few pictures of them playing outside when we first moved into our house.

Tumbling Revue

On May 20th Ashlyn had her Tumbling Revue.  She loved going to her "dancer class" all year and she was excited to perform in front of her family.  The performance was in the gym at Copper Hills High School.  She did an AWESOME job!

Waiting for her turn

They handed out Medals to all of the performers.  Ashlyn was so proud of it and she has worn it around multiple since then.

New House

After we had the twins our starter house in Kearns seemed to shrink.  When we moved there in 2006 it was just Doug, Jaxon, and I.  Four years and three more kids later we had out grown our house.  We tried to sell our house, but in the bad economy we didn't have any luck.  We decided we would have to rent our property and move in with Doug's parents to save up to buy another house.       After months of saving we were ready to start looking.  We have always been drawn to the Eagle Mountain area so that is were we started looking.  We found a house we liked that was a short-sale in the Silver Lake development.  We put an offer on the house, but kept looking because buying a short-sale can drag on for months and months.  Our realtor wanted to show a house out in City Center (where I really didn't want to move to) that she thought we would love.  So we went with her to look at it, I wasn't too happy about it but, I thought I would give it a chance.
She was right, we LOVED it!  We loved the layout, it was in great condition, it was almost triple the square footage of our last house, and in our price range.  We put an offer on the house and cancelled the offer on the other house.  Unfortunately, we were not the only ones who loved the house, there were 10 other offers on it by the time the weekend was over.  On Monday the bank asked for every one's best offer so we upped our's a little and crossed our finger's.  I was hoping and praying that we would get the house but I wasn't too optimistic about it.  Finally, the news came back that we got the house and we were SO excited.

Here are a few pictures of the house when it was still empty.

Big Night for my Boys

On April 27 both Jaxon and Doug had something going on.  Jaxon's kindergarten was performing their year end show and Doug had an awards banquet at work.  I felt bad that I would have to miss one or the other because I really wanted to go to both.  I decided I would go and watch Jaxon's dress rehearsal for his play earlier in the day and then I could go to Doug's banquet at night.
The kindergarten put on the "Three Piggy Opera."  It was a really cute take on the story of the Three Little Pigs.  The kids were either dressed as pigs or wolves and they sang songs together.  The teachers had previously recorded all of the kids speaking parts so they could show them on the projector during the performance.  It was a really smart idea and helped things run really smoothly.

Later that night we left the grandparents in charge of the kids and went to Doug's work banquet.  He and his Unit received and award for being so awesome :)  We had a nice dinner and good company. I tried to snap a couple of pictures but they didn't turn out very well.

Thanksgiving Point

When we picked up our registration bags for the race we noticed that they included all-day wristbands to Thanksgiving Point.  After we could walk again we decided to load up the van and take the kids down to have some fun.  We went to The Farm first to play outside and see all the baby animals.

Jaxon on the pony ride - Ashlyn was to scared to ride.

Brynlee, not having much fun on the horse.

After the farm we headed inside to the Dinosaur Museum.  My kids love to play in the museum, we go there a few times a year.

They twins were making me laugh so hard.  They were playing in the mirror and they kept kissing themselves over and over again :)
