Student of the Month

I am so PROUD of Jaxon, he has been doing so well in school.  At parent teacher conference this year his teacher told me that he had tested as high as possible in first grade.  He is reading so well that she wants him to read chapter books with the Second graders.
Every month a child gets picked from each class to be recognized in the Student of the Month assembly, and Jaxon's teacher picked him this month.  Doug and I went over to watch him get his award.

Birthday Girl

Ashlyn has been counting down the days until her birthday ever since Jaxon's party.  Every commercial that comes on the T.V. she would ask me "Mom, will you get me that for my birthday?"  Every time we went to a store she would have to take me down the toy aisle and point to every single toy and tell me that is what she wants for her birthday.

She was so cute this morning, I had wished her happy birthday about three times and Jaxon had sung her happy birthday before she asked, "Is it my birthday, like right now? Yippee!"

Ashlyn loves to draw, color, and paint. I though she would love to go to Color Me Mine to pick out something to paint.  I took the kids there on Saturday while my mom went shopping with the twins.

Jaxon picked a robot to paint

Ashlyn picked a unicorn

The kids had fun painting and we can pick up there figurines on Thursday.
After painting we headed down to The Sweet Tooth Fairy for a cupcake.

Double Fudge cupcake - she always eats just the icing off the top.

On her actual birthday Grandma Laura took us to Olive Garden for lunch.

Our waiter brought out the mints on a plate with a candle so we could all sing to her.

I have been making Ashlyn's birthday cake all weekend.  I made her an eight layer rainbow cake!

Ashlyn was spoiled and got so many presents!   She was so funny, she opened her presents so fast I don't even think she knew what she got.  We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends to support all of our family!

Angry Birds Birthday

Jaxon and Ashlyn's birthdays are only ten days apart so we have always combined their parties.  This year I wanted to give each of them their own special birthday party.  Jaxon has made so many friends, I thought it would be fun for him to have his first friend party.  He loves the game Angry Birds so I thought it would be fun to have an Angry Birds themed party.

I made the birthday cakes, bean bags, bean bag toss game, pin-the-beak on the bird game, and a pinata.  He was so excited to have all his friends come over, we had to have an hour by hour countdown as soon as he got home from school.

Cody won both the games, he graciously gave his other prize to second place

Blowing out the birthday candles.
The candles were supposed to be trick candles but they weren't.

Jaxon is so lucky to have such great family and friends.
I think everybody had a good time, except maybe the pinata :)

Little Witches!

On September 26, my neighbor and I packed all five of our girls in my van and went to Gardner Village to the all the cute witches.  I LOVE this time of year and it is so fun to see all the little girls get so excited to see all the scary Halloween decorations.  The twins are so happy everytime they see a pumpkin.

This is  a new witch this year, Hope. She is hoping to find a cure for breast cancer.

Ashlyn and her very best friend! These two love each other and have to play together everyday.

All of the girls.

Vernon Reservior

We felt bad for the kids because we never took them camping this summer, we were so busy moving and getting settled we never had time to go.  Finally, on September 1st we packed up to go for a little camping trip.  One of our neighbors suggested a place about an hour away from our house, Vernon Reservoir.  After had set up camp and got settle we were so tempted to come back home.  All of the kids were grumpy and whiny, plus the older kids did not want to use the outhouses because of all the flies.   I told Doug we should go for a drive and see who falls asleep because they all needed a nap.  Within 5 minutes of driving all four kids were asleep!  Yay, after their naps everyone was much happier.

We fished, flew kites, ate, played in the dirt, and had a good time!

The twins were bound and determined to have me throw every single rock into the water :)

P.S. I don't recommend sleeping in a tent with two babies that think they need to sleep on top of you...
